You mean those passing from the likes of TVU and ITU or those from Harvard/MIT ?? How do you define "reputed" US University ? And why do you think clients engage "underskilled" operators and not "skilled" US graduates ? Lower rate ? But then we see so many US graduates languishing in EB 3 ???

There is no point blaming on non-US students when US students are making a beeline to desi consultants for H1. May be the law should be -- no consulting job for US graduates.
A reputed university = very few or no gultis. TVU had only gultis...so did not qualify.....

I have a Nikon D70s and always get the 3 dust particles showing up on every photo I take. I've tried to clean the inside of the camera as much as possible, but I can't get rid of the dust. Is there a way I can clean the sensor or do I have to send it to Nikon? I have a photo shoot this weekend and would like to have it cleaned by then if possible.

I travelled outside USA before the expiry of VISA date while 7th yr H1b extension is going on based on my labor.
Here is the dates for clarity.
my visa date was upto Oct, 2005. Applied for H1b Extension in May, 2005. Travelled in June, 2005. came back in July 2005. Got approval for 7th yr. after a few days after my arival.

Yeah. Carry your documents with you at all times... Don't worry about losing it.... Getting detained by the officials for 10 minutes while they verify your status over radio is totally worth it than waiting for 4 - 6 weeks to replace your lost documents.

a. As someone who is quite familiar with border town routes (Nooo... I am not a coyote!) please brown people, please carry your documents. Your stay in the US had not made you white yet, so carry your documents. At one time, I was traveling from Albany to Potsdam (Way Upstate NY) and I was stopped. I had all of my papers labeled and arranged neatly and the official exclaimed that I was well prepared. Uhh.. yeah.
b. Do not make photocopies of official US Documents. Its a violation. The official will understand why you made a copy, but ITS A VIOLATION. On that note, please do make a photocopy. It helps the border agent to verify your status using the document number on the photocopied documents. Secretly, he will thank you that you had your document (either original or photocopied) and will warn you to not make copies and its a violation. I personally do make photocopies. Why? See the first half of my sarcastic write up.
c. Your passport along with visa stamp page is the most important thing a Border agent would want to see. If you go to school in a 50 mile radius, your School ID along with your passport and definitely a copy of I-20 is a must.
d. If you decide not to do any of the above, keep getting pulled over a few times in a week for a month and the next time you do pass by a check post, they will high-five you and let you through.

I sat waiting for birds that didn't show, and then a 2-inch bubble floats by... bored to bits I took some pictures just before the bubble burst, and it came out cooler than I expected. What do you think?

While the thread was started on a light note, I think this is a serious topic.
Most of the people in the developed (and increasingly in the developing) countries are over-weight. I believe people are over weight, because they are not eating good food. People just follow the latest fad (in India this is oatmeal, soybeans etc. for now).
I have successfully managed my weight below 24 BMI for almost a decade now by eating good food. The key is "moderation" and eat unprocessed food as much as possible.
If you have to choose between whole milk and fat free milk, choose whole milk. If you have to choose between red rice and white rice, choose red rice. If you drink, do not drink the cheapest variety. Go for Blue label or Hennessey and drink just a peg a week. Go and eat the most expensive cut of beef and eat just an ounce of it. And for the record, I haven't found anything wrong with traditional breakfast (uppuma, puttu, dosa and what not). If you like the taste of oatmeal go for it, but once in a while.
And do not forget to do some exercise everyday. 30-40 minutes of walk, bicycling, swimming, playing some games; any thing will do.

I though such contracts are illegal in US?....It is employment at will.....that means they can kick you out anytime or you can leave anytime....maybe someone can clarify

1. Is this because B is the "future" employer? In the usual scenario, if B were the current employer who responds to the RFE, can I switch to C within 6 months of joining B?
2. Also, does USCIS ask for us to prove "Ability to Pay" from the employer who responds to any I485 RFE?
At the time of 485 approval if future employer (B) is responging to RFE then yes you must work for long-term with B, however, in today's world 6 months is considered long-term.

Could you please clarify:
- what's the logic for not applying for 485 (when 140 is pending)? how can that save you any money?
- did you mean premium processing 140?
It saves you money because a I140 denial will result in 485 denial. You save the filing fee of 485.

Is someone working to fix the issues with the IV Tracker? It is such an important tool, but still has bugs to be resolved.
When you try to restrict by country or Country of charge, it doesnt bring back any results.
Also, if you try to sory by priority date, the sorting doesnt seem to work.

Bill clinton passed many executive orders during the last 1.5 months of his presidency. The reason for this is: the ruling party will not oppose this as the election is over. The new president will also not oppose this as the election is over and the bad blood of any of this action will not fall on him as well. On top of that, the new president need not address any contentious issues as an initiative from his side. If the old president started something, he could always portray that, he is making the situation better.
The best example for this kind of presidential action: There is a proposal from many parts of the political spectrum to lift the cuban embargo. No one is ready to do that as everyone is scared how it will affect them. If the passing president does this during the last 1.5 months, the blame will only fall on the president and it will not fall on the party or the opposition or on the new president. At the same time, the passing president will be portrayed in the history as someone who did some sweeping change.
Once the new president swears in, he won't be in a position to do sweeping changes as there is always a concern for second term, approval rating etc etc.
