The approval notices of the H1B renewals and transfers that I got in the past, the I94 at the bottom had the same number as the one that was given at the port of entry while returning from the last abroad trip made prior to the renewal/transfer.
But in my case, the old I94 had the H1B written on it, as opposed to "parolee" as is your case. So I am interested to also know how your approval turns out.
I haven't received the physical H1B approval notice from my attorney yet so I don't know what's the I-94 # on that one although I doubt it will be the same. AFAIK each I-94 number is unique and different. Anyway, I don't think I-94 number itself matters any, just the fact that you have valid, not expired I-94 is sufficient.

Rather than pushing for Bills which will pass only after we get a GC, why don't we ask for something more practical. I mean ask for minor policy changes rather than asking for major law changes.
Like,
1- granting EADs to all who have completed I-140,
2- reducing the timeframe to apply for AC21 from 6 months to 3 months,
This will solve a lot of people's immediate problems.

Can someone work for company A (with green card pending for 8 years) and start green card process thru other company to port to EB2(part time employment). Can they do that. I mean basically working for two companies until you get your green card, then quit company B and continue working for company A. Did anyone do this? Is this a possible scenario?
Quitting company B right after getting GC would be fraud/misrepresentation.
After getting GC through B, he/she needs to work for B (usually 6 months or so...)

Deba I am in the same boat as you.....Did not get very clear information till date. But what I have heard is you can travel on AP, get married as long as you have "a" H1-B stamp even if its expired in your passport it should be OK for your wife to apply for H-4 using the latest I 797 approval notice.
To be on the safe side though I am personally considering going for stamping as I dont have much time to wait for an AP as my PD is July 02 and I feel I might get my GC real soon :-)

Thank you for the reply. When you say that if I go with Company A that there will be more scrutiny, do you mean they will check the vailidity of the offer and their ability to pay? I work for a Govt. Agency(Company C), they will give me an EVL but I am not sure if they will specify "in accordance with I140". I am actually doing the same job, same place, before as a contractor(Company A) and now as an Employee(Company C).
This is what you could do. Take the updated EVL letter from your HR/ Supervisor. Attach latest paystubs as additional proof. Now for duties if the EVL does not contain this info then attach a copy of job posting advertisement that was issued when you were hired. Every govt job needs to be advertised. It can be in papers or their own website. Then get the lawyer to draft the AC21 letter and to point out the similarities between this job and your labor.

The ideas are good and in the past we have contemplated having a paid member area on IV site too. However the biggest problem we have is - who will manage it?
We all have full time jobs and already have our hands full. Adding anything extra to the current workload will be too much work for us.
Either we hire someone to do it. And to hire we need money. We find it hard to even raise money for Lobbying every other month. There are other important areas like publicity we can look at too if we get more funds. So we cannot hire anyone to manage this.
Now can someone volunteer for it? Yes but how many people come forward with a commitment in a 25k membership? You can see from the thread

It seems that some of us want to fight, but don't have a dedicated thread. Instead we have been hijacking other useful threads.
What I propose here is a FIGHT THREAD.
Yes, this is a copycat idea from FIGHT CLUB
How we go about:
1.) Establish a dedicated thread - just for fighting.
2.) At a pre-determined time (of day or night), fighters login.
3.) They start fighting and all posts/fights will be restricted to FIGHT THREAD only.
4.) Fight ends at a specificed time.
5.) Fighters take a break until the next schedule (may be daily or thrice a week)
6.) Fighters donot desecrate other threads, if they do, they will be banned from FIGHT THREAD.

paskal - i actually agree with your basic premise.....once the larger body agrees on a basic vision and strategic plan - the tactical manuevers to achieve the vision in line with strategy should be left to leaders.......
but this principle generally works in two scenarios - either when the leader (or lead group) is appointed by a higher authority (like employees following the lead of a CEO appointed by board of directors which in turn has been "elected" by shareholders) or when the leader has been directly or indirectly elected by the constituents.......
Let me give an example.......an entrepreneur starts a company with a great idea.....grows it and nurtures it with great love and passion......dedicates his whole life to the idea and the venture.......then the entrepreneur needs a larger canvas and more money to grow the vision further.......he takes the company public or gets private equity funding or raises debt........now the new owners/ stakeholders decide they need to change the management and decide to elect a person of their own choice........suddenly a rank outsider replaces the entrepreneur as CEO........the new CEO now has the legitimacy and owners' backing to dictate how the company should function.....
I welcome red dots but take a moment to absorb what I am saying and whether the principle is wrong......

It takes realization of how important skilled immigrants are to US economy.
So Lets not fight within us, lets do what it takes to get what we want.
