I have started the process where my employer is working on the filing. Of course they keep reminding me that EB1 is retrogressed and so I cannot file concurrently. Sunil is right if you mean "actual filing" as the process having started. As for me I am dithering because once I file I will have to sit tight for the whole thing to end and right now there is no end in sight. If I change jobs after filing I will have to go through this whole pain again! Hope this clarifies the situation. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Do you know why all arguments against F1 to GC are moot? It's because US does NOT view it as misuse. They are talking about not letting the students go, and stapling GC's to certificates. Do you think there will be any result from fighting that sentiment?

This is a totally wrong message someone out there put out to make people nervous. Application support centers do no have IO's. The only IO's you will meet would be at a different USCIS facility where you take appointment and stand before the counter and ask the questions.
There will be no reason why someone would meet a IO at the fingerprinting place which generally have technicians and security to monitor the process. You sit in a waiting room alongwith 100 other people, then once your name is called, you do the fingerprinting and get out of the door.
There is no time to mingle with IOs nor there will be IOs(friendly or not) who would be willing to disclose any information to you.
Some people online gloat at having pleasure to spread disinformation. this seems to be the case...

People in this forum are about 1.5 years behind in the understanding of retrogression (all of these issues have been dissected, diseminated, corroborated, etc.); how the law works; what visa bulletin said in November 2005. dissecting numbers, etc.
There is much deeper understanding of this on immigration.com since it has been going on for a while. Chandu is a member there and has been following it and participating on it.
I would think something as important as this; one would research it to death and get all possible statistics on it. All these things have already been laid out in great detail very long ago.
Don't know why you are irritated??? Maybe you should research it with the law and the various statistics by uscis, dol, dos and see what conclusions you can come up with.

Is 485 the sole purpose of our life now ? Personally I don't give a damn about the GC if I have to see my family suffer and I don't think any crime can be worse than seeing an adult abusing an infant who can't protect himself and not doing something about it.
Do you want to let a illegal nanny dictate your situation? Your unfortunate situation because you hired a illegal nanny which resulted in your child get beaten up further mess you?
Come on man - this is called knee jerk reaction - I can understand the anger because no one will tolerate beating children.
If something has to be done from now on in this IV community - write blogs about hiring nannies, and also warn people about what is happening on sulekha and ads on grocery stores etc... Ask people to be wary of all this. Such awareness will reduce these kind of incidents.

Even I was wondering same thing- Notice Date or Received Date. USCIS website says Received date is taken into account while looking at service centers processing times.
Here is exact line-
"IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance."
Of course, I personally wish that Notice Date takes precedence as it is not our fault that one file just kept on sitting and in saga of moving dates and PD, each day makes a difference.

I can jump around in joy and happiness as my PD is current under Sept. VB. But I am sure it will retrogress next month to pre-2004 ... till than I have 29 days of joy!

What Rajiv Khanna says is very fair, but unfortunately CIS is not run by Khanna. In any case, can you please post the link to the aforementioned blog.
I read on Rajiv Khanna's blog that PD for LC substitution cases should be the date when I-140 is filed for substitute however, there is evidence that USCIS has wrongly assigned orginal priority date of LC filing, to substitute (I have seen this happening in one case at least, where susbstitue got priotity date of LC).

I strongly recommend that - everyone active on thbis thread , please update your IV profile and also join a state chapter if you have not already done that. if you do not have a state chapter, contact your neighboring state chapters or if you want to start a state chapter, contact pappu or paskal and get permission to start one.
